December 14-16; 19-23: 2nd Annual Holidays Around the World

Head to Costa Mesa on December 14-16 and 19-23 this 2018 and witness how organizers transform Julianne and George Argyros Plaza into a winter wonderland. It’s the second of the annual event, and you should not dare miss it. You and your whole family will enjoy snowfall at night, live performances, colorful activities, and lots of free fun times.

December 20, 2018 – January 6, 2019: Winter Fest OC 2018

Celebrate the holiday cheer with the Winter Fest OC this year. It will be around for about two weeks so you’ll have a lot of time to plan it all out. This event is known to many with many fun programs and activities for everyone in the family. New and surely fun things to look out for this year’s Winter Fest OC are the Candy and Snowflake Wonderland, Festival of Lights, Club Winter Fest, and more. Coming back to help you enjoy the holidays are the Snowflake Summit, Flying Santa and His Reindeer, and Penny’s Snow Play.


December 7-8; 14-15: Annual Boat Parade of Lights – A Western Wonderland! at Dana Wharf

Get ready to be amazed in the Boat Parade of Lights in Dana Point this yuletide season. The holiday boat parade will be a 90-minute harbor cruise. You will have the chance to get up close and personal all the ships joining the event. Throughout the 90 minutes, you and your family will take delight in holiday music, cash bar, amazing harbor scenery, and use of lights.

December 16: International Celebration of Christmas and Nativity Play



Travel a few miles to Huntington Beach to witness their 18th annual International Celebration of Christmas and Nativity Play. This celebration hopes to bring together a different group of churches, singers, and dancers to honor the true meaning of the holiday season. Old Saint Nick will also make a special appearance so make sure to bring your kids along with you. He will gladly pose for a complimentary picture with the whole family. You surely wouldn’t want to skip the chance.

December 31: NYE Celebration: Kool & The Gang 2018-19

“Celebrate Good Times, Come On!” There’s no better good time than the holidays! To further cheer for this season, drive to Huntington Beach on New Year’s Eve and countdown hours to 2019 with Kool & the Gang. Other band performances will include SoCal’s favorite party band, DW3. Come here with all your family and friends so you can dance goodbye to 2018 and embrace 2019 with a bang. Aside from live performances, there’s also a bubbly champagne toast, party favors, balloon drops, a photo booth, two dance floors and much more.


December 13-16: Laguna Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’

Witness the classic holiday story of The Nutcracker in Mission Viejo this coming December 13 until this year. Join Clara and her Nutcracker Prince to an adventure of a lifetime. The Laguna Ballet will present this exciting show perfect for the holidays. Over 75 students are joining the show to give a presentation to remember.

December 19-23: 110th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights

Don’t miss the chance to catch the Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach. This annual event in Orange County will feature beautifully decorated yachts, boats, kayaks, and canoes sailing along the city’s harbor. It’s hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce.


December 7: Christmas Parade 2018

The Seal Beach Lions Club will once again ring the holidays in the 40th Christmas Parade in Seal Beach. Get to see more than 100 entries and about 3,300 parade participants pass by in front of you with beautiful decorations. There will be marching bands, dancing groups, classic cars, equestrians, floats, and so much more. Your eyes will feast in the beauty of the parade. The Christmas Parade will run on the entire length of Main Street from the Pier to Pacific Coast Highway. By 7 PM, the parade will start with the first entries leading and Santa Claus as a finale. Usually, the ceremony will end by 8:30 PM.

December 15: Breakfast with Santa 2018

Head to Seal Beach this December 15 and get a free, delicious, and hot breakfast. The event will follow the ‘First Come, First Served’ policy. Make this day a Seal Beach family affair kicking off the holidays. You can freely take a photo, jump in the bounce house, and sit on Santa’s lap. RANCHO


December 31: New Year’s Eve 2018-19: Civic Plaza

Enjoy an alcohol-free celebration in Rancho Santa Margarita as 2019 is knocking right around the corner. The mission of this annual New Year’s Eve Celebrating Family & Friends event is to offer families a fun and safe environment to countdown to a brand new year. It will celebrate the arts in the community by preparing space and opportunity to highlight local talents through music, dance, and fine arts. This celebration will feature all the fun you can imagine. There will be different kinds of food, music, inflatable rides, interactive crafts and games, and a Children’s Art Contest.
